International Student Programme
International students begin their stay with an orientation programme which introduces the students to the school, New Zealand and living in a homestay if this is required. They are assessed and placed in an appropriate ESOL programme. They will be placed in a home class with whom they will attend Food Technology, Art, Music, Computers or Wood Technology. As the student's English improves they will spend more time in their class and less time in the ESOL room.
Our International students live in a variety of situations: some are in homestays arranged by their parents, some live with relatives, some are in homestays arranged by agents and some live with their parents who have a Guardian visa. If required the school may be able to arrange a homestay. All homestays are monitored by the Homestay Manager.
Throughout their stay, every effort is made to ensure students will receive an appropriate, quality programme and be cared for well, both in their homestays and at school.
